Frequently Asked Questions
GENERAL

What the heck is Oakflower Brewing Company?
Oakflower Brewing Company is the culmination of the hard work of four beer-loving friends from north-central NJ who desperately wanted to create a warm, inviting, inclusive taproom for the neighboring communities.

What sort of beer can I expect to find?
We try to focus on lower-ABV, lighter beer styles. We make a pretty mean IPA (both hazy/NE and West Coast), and have built up a good rep for our lager beers as well. Saison (dry, effervescent Belgian farmhouse beer) is one of our main loves, so expect to see those peppered into the mix. We'll release the occasional high-ABV options (BA Barleywine, anyone??), but we regularly strive to pack as much flavor into sub 7% beers as is possible.

How do I find you?
Our taproom is located at 1932 Long Hill Rd., Suite A in lovely Millington, NJ, directly across from the Millington train station. Feel free to park right on the street up and down Long Hill Rd. or in our main lot next to the post office. There is also a sizable NJ Transit lot just on the other side of the train tracks in case everything else is jammed up.

Can I bring my kids?
Absolutely! We're all parents running the show and fully understand needing/wanting to bring the little ones along. We do require that kids remain with their adult at all times. While we love having them around, it is a full production facility behind the bar and we don't want any young ones wandering back there unattended.

Can I bring my dog/cat/alpaca?
While we absolutely love hanging out with our furry buds, we legally can only allow well-behaved, non-service animals on the outside terrace area. Service animals are allowed inside.

Do you serve food?
We always have a tasty selection of guacamole, various salsas, and chips from our amazing friends down the road at Marcy's Kitchen in Gillette. We also generally will have food trucks parked directly in front of the brewery on Fridays and Saturdays (along with the odd Thursday and Sunday). Unfortunately NJ state regulations do not allow breweries to make and serve their own food.

What about wine/spirits/NA beer/gluten-free options?
Similar to the above, we are only allowed to serve the beer we produce on-site. Non-alcoholic beer requires some surprisingly large equipment that we unfortunately do not have. We DO always have a wine+seltzer hybrid on tap that fits the bill for our wine loving friends along with those that have various levels of gluten intolerance. While we are not allowed to legally say it is gluten-free (which requires an entirely gluten-free facility), we can tell you that we make our wine+seltzer hybrids without using any gluten-containing ingredients.

Are there any to-go options available?
We have a full selection of tasty 12oz cans (four and six packs) available to-go at all times. You should see our to-go fridge just to the right of the door when you walk in. Our to-go list is kept updated on our "On Tap" page, but it is subject to change throughout the day. Please call ahead if you are looking for one beer in particular.

Can I host my private event at Oakflower?
Certainly! We do rent out the space for private events, but please be aware that food service cannot be provided. Also note that we always strive to keep the taproom open for our local crowd, so private events during normal taproom hours are limited. Please email info@oakflowerbrewing.com for more info.

What if I just want to come in with a large group?
We welcome groups of all sizes, but do require that parties over 10 (adults + children) have a reservation in advance (see our Reservation page for more info). If you frequent OBC, you know that seating can quickly fill up, and we need to ensure that we are not surpassing occupancy limits, nor limiting the flow for other patrons who want to come through. We reserve the right to turn away any party over ten depending on our taproom crowd at that time. We also do not allow the moving of tables to accommodate large groups - furniture must remain where it is.
